History Of The Hurricane Cocktail

The Hurricane made its first appearance in 1939 at the World Fair in New York City. The cocktail got its name from the hurricane glass they were first served in.

It became popular at Pat O’Brien’s bar in the mid-1940s when he made the cocktails to help get rid of his large supply of rum his distributors forced him to buy.
